Back To The Garden

Well things are beginning to look a lot like Spring around here. This is what is happening so far on our back deck.

The young Maple tree is sprouting soft new leaves. It looks so hopeful in the afternoon sun.

All four of my Rosemary plants are in full bloom now.

As well as these Primroses which actually bloomed all winter! Even with all the rains.

The Cobbitty Daisy below, survived the winter and is now in bloom as well.              

These are the days we've been waiting for. Warmer, sunnier days. Birds singing, frogs croaking, bees buzzing. Ahhhh the beauty of it all. I couldn't resist buying a couple of new plants to add to the collection.....

and this sweet, tiny Cyclamen. The world looks a little brighter having these new Spring colors around. 

Today my dear friend Silvia,  in Spain, sent me these beautiful photos of the first flowers blossoming on her terrace. So beautiful!

Yet Another Gypsy

These pics speak for themselves.....

I should have backed off a little bit in order to get the whole truck into the photo. Some days are like that. Right? This modern day gypsy cut new, picture windows in his "wagon". He trimmed them  in wood frames.

His boat does double time as a trailer for other items.

The owner was walking down to the beach with his three large dogs as I snapped these pics.

Spring Color

The Rhododendrons are in bloom here at the coast.

As you can see, they grow quite tall here.

I'm not sure what these yellow flowers in the distance are. But they sure caught my eye as we were driving by.

These are Wild Mustard plants that grow all along the highway. The Ocean is between the Eucalyptus trees in the foreground and the mountains in the background. The floral strip is the center divider.  A beautiful drive this time of year.

Angels By The Sea

I've looked at these two seats many times, while standing on the beach below the high cliff where they sit. But today I had my camera with me and decided to check them out with my zoom lens. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw! Take a look....

How divine to nestle into a pair of wings like that and watch the whales and seals in the ocean below.

What do you think? Are they cast? Or could they be carved marble? You can click on the pics to enlarge and get a better look. Notice the little gargoyle at the fence to the left of the pic. Such a magical spot.

Sunday At The Seashore

We went into the Village this afternoon to get out of the house for a while after a rainy morning. The sun was now out and I brought my camera. Here are some pics I took of part of our tiny fishing town.

The church has some really pretty windows. You can see the sun shining through from the opposite side of the building.

A Day At The Ocean Etc

I just lost a post that was nearly finished. I have no idea what caused this to happen. It sure is frustrating though. I'll give it another try.

This Ornamental Plum tree grows outside our front room window. Spring is in the air.

A bud on a shrub in our back garden. I don't know what this shrub is named but the humming birds sure love it once it is all in bloom and a bit warmer out. The hummers have not returned just yet but they should be here in a few weeks.

Well, this re-do of my post didn't turn out like the lost one. The photos are not even the same ones. I'll give that post another try in a day or two. sigh....   some days are like that. Things don't always go according to plan, do they? I hope you enjoy these photos for now and I'll be back soon.
